2004 wasn't
a good year at all for “Celebrity Sold's” present singer and drummer, that
happened to belong together in a band they both had formed back in 1998, during
their high school years. 2004 would be a year that their band reached its end,
due to the fact, that both of them along with the rest band members had to face
conflicts that had to do with different music styles and interests. The fact
that all members were crossing the age of confusion and discovery of their own
characters, played a huge role as well. Eventually in October the 2nd of the
same year, Nasos and Constantine, that were also good friends from their
childhood years, would decide to follow different paths, as far as their music
interests were concerned.
In the end of the year 2005 Constantine
was asked, to handle and organize the annual local band festival, that would
take place in his hometown and would last for two days. What he had to do was,
to concentrate ten bands of all music styles and propose them to play in that
event. In the billing of the second day, the band named ''Impulse'' was the one
that would close the two day festival. At the end of the event Michael the
guitarist of “Impulse” found Constantine,
in order to thank him for inviting him, and his band to participate at the live
event. He asked him if he was still playing with his previous band “Sacrament”
(2004) referring also to Nasos, which was the singer at that time, and asking
Constantine if they could get together at some point and jam. Constantine
explained to Michael the exact situation and how things had, so he just gave
him Nasos phone number. Michael got in touch with Nasos and arranged to get
together and jam. After their first meeting they found out that they had the
potentials to create something good out of this. They begun by composing their
first song ''Burden Of My Life''. They were so happy with how the song sounded,
as well as the music chemistry between them, that they kept on making songs and
at the same time they started searching for the missing members in order to
form a band. It was then that they proposed for the first time to Constantine
to take over the drums, but at that point he had full obligations with his band
“Guiltysores” that he had just started. So they ended up, with Kostas Zervakis
( an old friend of Michael, and also the first person he started to play music
with back in 1996) behind the drums, and John Psaropoulos, from “Impulse” on
the bass. Later on they realized that they needed a keyboard player, so they
proposed to Kostas Matsoukas to take over. If we go back in the Sacrament
years, we would find him participating in some of the band's final live shows.
In 2005 all together agreed to name the band “R Sound”.
Unfortunately in 2006 Michael had to join
the army and this would steal a year from him and his band's time. Things
started to slow down, and the current bassist decided to leave. Now the band
had been left without its lead guitarist and the bass player. In the beginning
of 2007 Nasos and Kostas (keyboars), due to the situation, decided to propose
Nick, a very close friend of Nasos, to play the bass. With this decision, they
were taking a big risk, because Nick was only a listener and had never played
any instrument before. In February, after one month practicing on Nasos
acoustic guitar, he decided to buy his first bass. Constantine happened to be
the person, behind the cash machine who would sell to Nick his first bass
guitar. Three months later, Michael was dismissed from the army and the band
started the rehearsals again, although all the members were out of shape. After
some time bonding, new songs were composed and Nick suggested to use the
acronyms of one of those (Just A Matter Of Time) as the bands new name. So they
continued under the name ''JaMoT''
Motivation
was the only element missing in order for the band to start thinking seriously.
When some proposals for the promotion of the group's music came up the engine
begun to start. More work was needed, but the drummer didn't seem willing to
follow. During a rehearsal, the drummer had to leave early and the band decided
to jam with Constantine, who was working at that time in the studio, behind the
drums. The next day a discussion took place and Kostas Zervakis made clear that
he didn't share the same ambitions and dreams as the rest of the band. That day
the band was left without a drummer, and at the end of the same day Costantine
was invited by the group at Nasos place, where he was asked for a second time
to take over the drums. Disappointed from his course so far, he accepted gladly
and agreed to work hard with everyone to achieve every goal.
The band with fresh ideas, and huge
appetite for creation and recognition, under the new (and final) name
“Celebrity Sold”, that Constantine came up during the last days of 2007,
started over again the first days of 2008. Unfortunately in 24/5/08 the
cooperation with Kostas Matsoukas (keyboards) reached an an end, due to the
fact that they couldn't work things out anymore.
“Celebrity Sold” are now in their best
shape ever and continue working harder day by day. New songs are composed so
far and others keep on coming along with many live shows everywhere.
