Οι
θεσσαλονικείς Five
Star Hotel σχηματίστηκαν στην Αγγλία το 2001. Τα
μέλη τους συναντήθηκαν στο πανεπιστήμιο του Birmingham και ξεκίνησαν να φτιάχνουν την δική
τους μουσική. Με την επιστροφή τους στην Ελλάδα ηχογράφησαν για λογαριασμό της On Stage Records to cd single This Is The Night. Ακολουθούν εμφανίσεις του γκρουπ ως
support σχήματα στις συναυλίες των Six by Seven, Electrelane, Nouvelle Vague, και Saint Etienne. Επίσης έχουν εμφανιστεί στο φεστιβάλ
ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης, στην Λάρισα και στην Αθήνα.
Ο
ήχος του γκρουπ είναι επηρεασμένος από την αγγλική indie pop, και συγκροτήματα όπως οι Belle and Sebastian, Charlatans, Pulp, New Order και Air. Τραγούδια τους βρίσκονται στις συλλογές
Εnjoy the Greeks (On Stage Records 2004, I want you) και στο Coca Cola Sound Wave cd (Sunshine). Αυτή την περίοδο ηχογραφούν το ντεμπούτο
τους που θα κυκλοφορήσει από την On Stage Records και θα περιλαμβάνει 10 τραγούδια

Style: Indie Pop
Five Star Hotel
were formed in 2001 in England.
Its members met that year at the University
of Birmingham and started
writing their own music. Upon finishing their studies and returning to Greece (Thessaloniki, their hometown),
they recorded the CD-single This Is The Night (On Stage Records). So far
the group has been the support band for Six by Seven, Electrelane, Nouvelle Vague, and
Saint Etienne, has appeared in the Documentary festival in Thessaloniki and has also
played live in Larissa and Athens.
Five Star
Hotel’s sound is influenced by the English indie pop scene and bands such as Belle and Sebastian, Charlatans, Pulp, New Order and
Air. Songs of the group have been in included two
compilations. These are Εnjoy the Greeks (On
Stage Records 2004, “I want you”) and on the Coca Cola Sound Wave CD (“Sunshine”).
Now the group is recording its debut album which will include 10 songs and will
be released on On Stage Records in 2008.
